As the name suggests, I like to use this blend when I feel anxious or worried about something and I want to stop obsessing about it and feel more grounded.
- Rose Geranium – 4 drops
- Cypress – 2 drops
- Vetiver – 2 drops
- Lavender – 2 drops
I like to put one or two drops of this blend in an aromatherapy locket. You can also add 4 drops of the blend to 2 teaspoons of jojoba oil, as you did in the Geranium Bliss recipe, to make a roll-on perfume. Mix 5 to 6 drops in a tablespoon of whole milk and add to a warm bath for a relaxing soak.
In my opinion, aromatherapy lockets and roll-on perfumes are under-utilized but very effective methods of using essential oils for effecting mood.
I like the fact that a properly made aromatherapy locket has a back on it to protect the skin from direct contact with essential oils and so this provides a way to use undiluted essential oils or essential oil blends without risking skin irritation (just don’t put too much essential oil on the pad or cotton ball in the locket or it will leak out – one or 2 drops is all you need – test by holding the locket up for a few moment to make sure it doesn’t drip; if it drips, you may need to use a tissue to blot the pad, then wipe off the locket before wearing).
Roll-on perfumes are a very convenient way of applying properly diluted essential oils to small areas of skin (along the arms, neck or throat, pulse points) without getting your hands greasy. They are also small and convenient to carry. Shake them gently for a moment before applying. Artisan Aromatics carries 10 ml roller-ball bottles and Jojoba oil for making roll-on perfumes and blends.
